Welcome my Steamer brothers and sisters.
Someone mentioned “brass goggles” to me and that set me off into the world of creating. I build contraptions mainly in brass, steel, wood and natural materials. Of course sometimes you cannot avoid modern materials but I love to feel, texture and heft of solid brass, copper and steel, especially when fashioning weapons and big contraptions like the Rocket Pack.
This website is to show case some of the Steampunk inspired pieces that I've made over the years.
I will post the pictures up with descriptions and information on how they were made.
I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed making them.
Anything you'd like to know about them please contact me using the contact sheet on the last page.
Some of the items are for sale and I am always available for commissioned work or consultation.
My first experience of Steampunk was when two friends of mine took me to see an Abney Park concert in London. I loved the music but I was blown away by the costumes people were wearing. Later that year I attended the first Lincoln Asylum event and I was hooked. I loved the people and the style but most importantly I was fascinated with the costumes, the contraptions and the gadgets people had made. The imagination and ingenuity of the Steampunks was breath taking.
The following year I attended with the wonderful Lady Nikki Price and we both became totally entranced with the whole scene. It's brought us great enjoyment, new friends and fired our creative imaginations.
I think I'd been looking most of my life for something I didn't know existed and it was then, at the Asylum, that I had, what Professor Elemental called an "Oh there you are!" moment.
